Hi, I'm Travis Corpening, and here we are
at Carolina Beach Recreation Center, and I'm
going to try to teach you how to do a turn
around fade-away jump shot. Now, first of
all what you want to do is, one of the most
effective ways you can use this shot is, by
being along the plane, the back plane of the
backboard, so you're down low. Now, what you
want to do is, you want to turn your back
to the basket until you're defensive now.
As you do that, you want to pivot, pivot to
either your right, or pivot to your left,
either way, once you pivot, you want to use
your body and take off, so that you're fading
away from the defensive man, so they cannot
block your shot. As you do this, you spot
the basket, and you release, just like a regular
shot. But you want to try your best not to-
it's a fade-away, so you're going to be leaning
away from the basket a little bit, but you
want to try and straighten your body as much
as possible, and get more of a lift, rather
than a lean. And there you have it, completing
a turn around fade-away jump shot.
