Luol Deng: I play for the Chicago Bulls, I'm
here just taking a look at the Olympic Stadium.
I grew up not too far from here, and for me
it's amazing just the fact that I get to participate
in the Olympics, and I get to do it in my
home town.
I enjoy playing the game, I think it's a game
that has a lot of different ways to play it,
it is exciting, involving different people
and it's a great way of making friends. It's
just a great sport.
I'm a great believer that the UK has a lot
of talent, and Basketball is growing in Europe.
Right now we are slightly behind, but we are
catching up fast and it just shows the talent
here so more facilities and attention to the
game will definitely help the growth of the
game.
It starts with having fun, and that's how
it is for kids, as long as they are having
fun, let them play.
Gabrielle Boateng, Hackney 2012 Youth Ambassador:
I've met Luol before and I think he is a great
inspiration for the game, especially for Basketball
and young children. London is making a big
change and I am happy to be a part of it.
Andre Dias, Hackney 2012 Youth Ambassador:
It was motivating to know that he is from
London as well. He had less opportunity than
I have now, so it motivates me to work harder
to be just like him.
Luol Deng: What the Olympics brings, besides
sport, shows the kids the passion that these
athletes put into it, and that they enjoy
winning, competing and sportsmanship. It's
just great!
