Hi I'm Travis Corpening, and we're here at
Carolina Beach Recreation Center, and I'm
about to show you how to work on your three
point, your NBA three point shot. What you
want to do is first of all you want to be
able to at least hit a college three point
shot. And a college three point shot, as you
can see we have the college line on this court.
The college three point line is a lot closer
than the NBA three point line. But once you
can hit that consistently, to start out and
work on your NBA shot, you probably want to
take a step back. Just one step back from
the college three point line, and practice
from there. After you can hit that consistently
you may want to you take another step back.
And you know the NBA line as you step back
you'll see if you ever stand at an NBA line
you'll see that it's a good distance away
from the basket. But this is why you have
to gradually bring yourself out, gradually
get away from the basket so it becomes comfortable
shooting from that distance. So I'd say comfortably
being able to hit at least three out of five
on a regular basis from each line. That would
show that you're ready to actually move back,
if you're able to hit three out of five on
a consistent basis. Three out of five or better.
There you have it complete and working on
your NBA jump shot.
